Porcelain Veneers

Veneers are thin sheaths of porcelain crafted to fit over the front surface of teeth. This popular cosmetic dentistry solution allows us to correct or conceal several flaws using one, minimally invasive treatment option. Like any procedure, it’s not right for every patient, but if you want to perfect a smile that’s marred by chips, cracks, stains, and uneven spacing between teeth, it may be the simplest solution to achieve your dream smile. The porcelain veneer process is simple and comfortable. We design and place the veneer at two separate appointments. During your first visit to our dental office, we’ll remove a small amount of surface tooth enamel. Then, we capture impressions that are used by our lab to create your veneer, and we place a temporary veneer that protects your prepared teeth until your final solution arrives in our dental office. You’ll return for a second appointment where your temporary will be exchanged for the high quality, smile perfecting porcelain veneer.

Dental Bonding

If you want to conceal smile flaws in just one visit, dental bonding may offer a viable alternative to porcelain veneers. In addition to a single appointment procedure, dental bonding is a more affordable solution. However, we don’t recommend dental bonding for patients who want to improve a large area of their smiles. If we determine that dental bonding is right for you, the process is completed in just one short visit. For most patients, we won’t need to remove any dental structure in preparation for your dental bonding procedure. We will numb the area. Then, we place a tooth-colored composite resin material directly onto the tooth. Once we’ve shaped the composite into position covering or correcting the cosmetic irregularities, we use a curing light to harden the resin into place. Finally, we’ll polish and shine the filling in order to match the surrounding dental structure.

That said, our procedures have varying costs and focus on some results more than others. Therefore, you’ll want Dr. Kamali to explain your cosmetic choices. These will include:

Cosmetic Dentistry Can Be an Investment Worth Making

Admittedly, cosmetic dentistry can involve a sizable financial commitment. Still, the fact remains that its initial expense pays off over time.

You see, cosmetic work does excellent things for patients anxious about their smiles. By improving pearly whites, it boosts confidence and self-esteem to new heights. From there, your grin and the resulting attitude change better your relationships with friends, family, coworkers, and more. The final outcome of this process is a higher quality of life!

How to Make Cosmetic Dentistry Affordable

Is Cosmetic Dentistry Safe?

When done by a trained professional, cosmetic dentistry is very safe. You can trust that its procedures won’t harm you (or your mouth).

Still, not every cosmetic treatment is right for every patient. Different people benefit from various services. Before anything else, then, a dentist will examine your mouth and assess which procedures may not suit you. For example, they may discourage veneers that make tooth decay hard to treat. Similarly, a dentist might suggest thorough teeth cleaning before the whitening process.

What Is the Difference Between a Dentist and a Cosmetic Dentist?

Treatment focus is the main difference between a general dentist and a cosmetic one. The former kind mainly does preventive work, while the latter attends more to tooth appearance.

You see, “cosmetic dentistry” isn’t a dental specialty like orthodontics and pediatrics. Consequently, dentists who pursue it have the same basic training as other types. (They can perform oral exams, fillings, crowns, etc.) What really sets them apart is that they devote much of their continuing education to cosmetic work. Furthermore, these dentists tend to have an artistic touch that a general dentist might not.

How Do I Choose a Cosmetic Dentist?

The American Dental Association doesn’t recognize cosmetic dentistry as a specialty, so any dentist can claim expertise in it. That fact means finding a dental provider with the proper credentials for one’s smile needs is tricky. Even so, there are a few things to look for in an ideal candidate:

Is Cosmetic Dentistry Worth It?

In general, cosmetic dentistry is a worthwhile investment in your smile. Countless patients have had major improvements in their lives thanks to its treatments.

For better or worse, your smile is one of the first things others notice about you. People will thus judge you based on how your teeth look. Fortunately, cosmetic work can give you chompers that make you seem attractive, healthy, smart, and successful. You could see better career prospects from there or even land your dream job!

Furthermore, remember that a poor smile can make you self-conscious and anxious. You might feel a need to hide your teeth from others. However, beautiful pearly whites give you the confidence to be positive among your friends and family. They could also help you meet a new best friend or the love of your life.
